Scottish EPC reforms: updated timetable
Updated 19 October 2026.
The Scottish Government’s August 2026 update moves the introduction of new-style domestic and non-domestic EPCs to 30 April 2028. The previous October 2026 launch date no longer applies.
Most of the current EPC system will remain in place until spring 2028. Transitional arrangements vary by property type and transaction, so check the official guidance before relying on an existing certificate for a future sale or let.
